My aim is to illuminate the story of the Fokker T.V. 856 with both a concise documentary and a thoughtfully crafted monument. The film will showcase the bravery of its crew and the aircraft’s significant place in our history. The monument will stand as a permanent homage, safeguarding their memory for generations to come.

On 13 May 1940, Fokker T-V 856 was sent to attack the Moerdijk to stop the German advance into Holland.
The aircraft was intercepted by German fighters and shot down during the mission. Ben Swagerman who had taken the place of his friend did not return, and was posthumously awarded the Militaire Willems-Orde.
